Everything about making money

I just tried creating an adwords campaign. I picked a list of keywords but they all were slapped with a $10 per click tag. I don't believe that these keywords should have been that much. I don't know what's going on. Could I be getting slapped because I don't have a landing page? I'm just directing to the sales page.

Someone please advise me.
